Integrating a premium theater into a formal lounge presents a distinct architectural challenge: delivering commercial-grade cinematic dynamics without introducing visual clutter.
To preserve the room’s interior design, AV Consultants implemented a hidden speaker architecture and an Ultra Short Throw (UST) projection layout, ensuring the entire system remains visually discreet until activated.

1. Ultra-Short Throw 4K Projection
- Optoma CinemaX D2+ UST Laser Projector: Positioned mere inches from the wall, this laser light source eliminates bulky ceiling mounts, providing crisp 4K UHD resolution and high ambient light performance.
- Elite Screens (ES) 120-Inch CLR Screen: Utilizing Ceiling Light Rejecting technology, this surface filters out ambient overhead light, maintaining deep black levels and sharp contrast during daytime viewing.
2. Amplification & Source
- Denon AVR-X4800H AV Receiver: This premium receiver handles precise Dolby Atmos decoding, advanced room calibration, and high-current amplification to drive the architectural speaker array effortlessly.

3. Invisible Focal Architectural Speaker Array
To maintain a completely flush, minimalist ceiling line, we selected an all-in-ceiling high-end architectural series from France.
- Focal 300 ICLCR5 (5 Units): Deployed for the critical Front Left, Center, Right, and Side Surround channels. These specialized acoustic enclosures feature adjustable aim to direct pristine dialogue and a wide soundstage precisely toward the listening position.
- Focal 300 ICW6 (2 Units): Dedicated overhead height channels that deliver seamless, three-dimensional Dolby Atmos object tracking (e.g., overhead flyovers, environmental ambience).
Looking at the internal structure of the Focal 300 ICLCR5 used in this project, you can see why it is far superior to standard ceiling speakers:
- The Built-In Back Box Architecture: Standard open-back speakers treat your empty ceiling cavity as a chaotic speaker cabinet. This causes the sound to distort, vibrate the POP sheets, and leak into upper floors. As shown in the product profile, the 300 ICLCR5 features a fully sealed, structurally isolated rear enclosure. This controls internal air volume perfectly, ensuring tight, highly predictable, and punchy theater performance every single time.
- The 45-Degree Fixed Acoustic Baffle: The face view reveals that the dual Flax-cone woofers and the inverted dome tweeter are mounted on a precisely angled internal baffle. Instead of firing straight down, the sound waves are projected forward and downward at an angle.
- The Adjustable Waveguide & Tweeter Level Switches: To compensate for different ceiling heights and seating distances, the center mid-high assembly can be physically rotated and adjusted via high-frequency ($+/-3\text{dB}$) toggles.

The true genius of this layout lies in the calibration. Because the lounge features highly reflective premium marble flooring, firing a traditional speaker straight down would create immediate acoustic reflections, making dialogue sound muddy and echoing.
By mathematically mapping the seating layout, Team AV Consultants positioned these angled enclosures so that their acoustic wavefronts bypass floor reflections entirely and converge directly at ear level in the sitting area.
The Result: Even though there isn’t a single speaker visible around the 120-inch Elite Screens CLR display, your brain is completely tricked into hearing crystal-clear dialogue and panning sound effects coming straight out of the middle of the screen.
4. Low-Frequency Precision
- Dual JL Audio D110 Subwoofers: Rather than relying on a single subwoofer—which can introduce acoustic dead zones—a dual sub configuration was engineered. This guarantees perfectly uniform, fast, and tactile low-frequency distribution across every seat in the lounge.
